How-TO - Your first Logon... Tour of Features
Logging onto your remote desktop is very simple. You probably already have the software installed on your computer to do so. Most of you will be using a Window's XP machine to connect to our service, so we will do this tutorial using a XP Service Pack 2 PC.
If your Window's XP does not have Service Pack 2 applied, please visit Microsoft here for instructions on how to obtain and install SP2. It is important to always have the latest Operating System patches for your computer for security and data integrity purposes.
There are usually two places to find this software. The first is on the Start menu -> under Programs -> under Accessories - > under Communications, called Remote Desktop Client. If it is not located there, goto Start-> Run, and then type MSTSC and hit enter. If you still cannot run it, see the link above in order to obtain a free copy of the software.
The software that we will be using to connect to MyProClose is the remote desktop client. If your vendor did not include it on your machine, you may also obtain it here at Microsoft's Website.

When you run the client, it opens a window and asks you for the name of the computer that you wish to connect to. To connect to the MyProClose network enter: server.myproclose.com and click connect.

A new window will open up that asks you for a username and password. This is the same username and password that you were assigned when you signed up for service. Enter the information and click login.
When logging in, occasionally you will see a update script run, do not worry for this is normal operation.
Also from time to time, you will be asked to change your password. Our password policy is 90 days between passwords and every other one has to be unique. They have to be more then 8 characters in length and they should be both letters and numbers.
From here you will get access to your remote desktop. It is very similar to what you are used to on your local desktop. You have a start menu in the lower left of the screen. You have icons on your desktop. When you run a program on your remote desktop, it does not use up any of your local computer's resources, therefore programs will all run lightning fast.
All data that you store on your desktop will be contained in your My Documents folder. This folder is then backed up on a nightly basis. If you look in this folder you will see another folder called backups. This is your actual live backups of your data. You have the ability to restore files yourself that you may have lost or accidentally deleted.
All of your programs come pre-loaded onto your remote desktop. As such they are all professionally installed and maintained. They will always be up to date with the latest patches and security measures.
One of our most useful features of your session with us is the ability to share your Calyx Point data in real-time with other users of the system. This can either be used to stay in touch with upper management or it can be used for a Broker / Loan Processor relationship.
